Set up google alerts for news in your line of business:
For example we use phrases like “Accounting trends”, “Small/medium business tools” and “Accounting and Fun” (the last phrase gives the most hits each week!). You don’t need to read these alerts each day, look to leave them in a folder and make time to review them once a week/month.
Keep your data safe:
Consider using cloud-based applications like Xero/Dropbox/Google Drive, if you prefer to work off your hard drive then complete regular back ups to an external device and store it in a different location to your PC.
